THE MERCYHURST UNIVERSITY SOCIAL WORK CLASS OF 2016

In the fall of 2015, we, the graduating social work students of Mercyhurst University in Erie, Pennsylvania, began the process of making this film in order to humanize the face of violence in our city. We wanted to create a medium that was able to share the personal stories of those affected by gun violence, as well as give a voice to various community members and leaders who are working to promote a better Erie.

Throughout the process, we were constantly amazed by the strength, resiliance, and hope that we found in the Erie community. Although violence in the city has become increasingly more common, we have not given up hope for our community to live non-violently. We are all connected, and it is the responsibility of every individual to promote positive change in the community.
Let it begin with Erie. Let it begin with us. Let it begin with me.
